KOOL Summer Program

Kids Outgoing, Outdoing, and Learning (KOOL) Summer Program

KOOL is a summer academic enrichment program for children going into 1st through 5th grade that offers academic support in the areas of math and reading, cultural field trips, and constructive summer activities and crafts for students.

The program offers a learning environment that stimulates interest and participation from the students by allowing them to refresh and expand math, reading, and social skills in a classroom environment. The program typically runs from early July to mid-August. All KOOL Program activities are FREE for all participants.

Focusing on academic, cultural, and social enrichment, as well as community service and recreation, the KOOL Program provides participants with an educational and fun summer experience. Participants engage in reading and math activities on a daily basis, as well as advanced computer tutorials, arts and crafts, and experiential seminars provided by local agencies. On Fridays, KOOL participants attend (virtually or in person) field trips to various places throughout the Pittsburgh region including the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium, and the Carnegie Science Center.
