Project H.E.A.R.T. (HIV/AIDS Education and Research Training)

Project H.E.A.R.T. is an HIV/AIDS awareness program available to students currently enrolled in the Emerging Leaders Program. During the program, students will train to become peer educators who are able to share accurate information about HIV and other STIs with their classmates and friends. In order to become peer educators, participants will learn information about HIV and STIs, prevention methods, healthy relationships, and where to find accurate resources.

Content will be given in one week in the Spring. ELP staff will provide one full session regarding HIV/AIDS awareness and will provide supplemental learning activities for the rest of the week. Students in attendance for the HIV/AIDS awareness session will receive an additional amount in their end-of-year stipend.
